Same-Visit Crowns

A ceramic crown scanned, milled, and fitted in one appointment. No putty, no temporary, no second visit.

The tooth is prepared, scanned, and the crown milled while you wait. Then it is stained, glazed, and bonded on the same day.

Same-visit crowns require a mill in the building. It is a real capability claim and we only state it for a practice that has one.

What patients notice

  • One appointment instead of two
  • No temporary crown to come loose
  • Digital scan instead of impression putty
  • Full ceramic, shade-matched to the neighbouring tooth

Questions

Is a same-visit crown as good as a lab one?+

For most teeth, yes: the ceramic and the fit are equivalent. For complex front-tooth aesthetics we still use a lab ceramist, because layering by hand beats a mill on translucency.

Safety & what to expect

A crowned tooth can stay sensitive to cold for a few weeks while the nerve settles. A small number of heavily damaged teeth go on to need root canal treatment afterwards, which we flag before starting.
